Meliá Hotels International has marked its entry into Hungary with the opening of Hotel President Budapest, which has joined the group under the Affiliated by Meliá network. The hotel officially opened its doors on March 23, 2026, representing a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing European expansion.
Located in the heart of Budapest, the property enjoys close proximity to major landmarks such as the Hungarian Parliament Building, the St. Stephen’s Basilica, and the Danube River. The hotel features an Art Deco façade complemented by warm, contemporary interiors designed to appeal to modern travellers.
The property offers 152 guestrooms, some with direct views of Budapest’s iconic skyline and historic landmarks. One of its standout features is the rooftop terrace, which provides sweeping panoramic views of the city and the Buda Hills.
Dining options include the Intermezzo restaurant and bar, which presents creative interpretations of traditional Hungarian flavours. For meetings and events, the hotel offers 267 square metres of flexible space spread across three multifunctional rooms, catering to both business and social gatherings.
Looking ahead, the property is set to undergo a transformation within the next three years to become part of INNSiDE by Meliá, one of the group’s most dynamic lifestyle brands. The transition will introduce a more modern aesthetic, flexible social spaces, and experiences inspired by local culture.
Gabriel Escarrer, Chairman and CEO of Meliá, described the opening as a milestone in the company’s expansion into destinations that inspire today’s travellers. Meanwhile, Audun Lekve, CEO of 1912 Hotels, highlighted the importance of the partnership in combining the property’s local character with the strength of a globally recognised hospitality brand.
